About Me

Hello and welcome! I’m Dr. Ayelet Katzelnik, a licensed psychologist in Massachusetts (PSY5000309) and Rhode Island (PS02205). I work with adults, including young professionals, parents, and individuals with immigrant backgrounds.

I received my B.A. in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and went on to earn both my M.A. in Professional Psychology and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology, with a concentration in Health Psychology, at William James College. My training has been shaped by a commitment to working with diverse communities.

I completed my APA-accredited predoctoral internship at Lynn Community Health Center and advanced practicum training at Boston Behavioral Medicine in Brookline. I also gained experience working with immigrants and refugees at Family Health Center of Worcester, as well as with elementary school students in the public school system.

Following graduation, I completed my post-doctoral fellowship at LifeStance Health (formerly Child and Family Psychological Services), where I later continued as a staff psychologist and behavioral health consultant.

My Story

Initially, I was drawn to psychology out of a desire to help people feel truly heard and understood, navigate their relationships and to support them in reconnecting with themselves and their inner wisdom. I believe in empowering individuals to trust themselves, even when life feels uncertain.

My therapeutic approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in creating emotional safety. I often integrate mindfulness-based techniques, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to meet each client’s needs.

I am based in the Worcester, MA area (North Grafton) where I have an office for in-person sessions and can meet virtually with clients throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Outside of my work, I enjoy being outdoors (especially near the ocean!), practicing yoga and other holistic techniques, traveling, reading, and spending time with my partner, Jonathan, and our cat, Loki.
